As of 10:30am this morning we are officially done the 2011 Centre of Excellence Trials! The trials took place yesterday and today at the Olympic Stadium here in Montreal. Yesterday was a long day held from 7am-2pm where we competed in the individual routine set component, the individual technical elements component as well as a team pattern evaluation. Today was a shorter day held from 7am-10:30am where we did physical and endurance testing.
Now that trials have been completed, our team is given 10 days off until after the labour day weekend to rest and recover for our next training. During this time, the selection committee will phone each athlete individually to anounce their placement on the team for this coming season. GOOD JOB EVERYONE!

UANA Pan American Championships comes to Montreal
The UANA Pan American Championships will be held in Montreal at the Olympic Park Stadium from August 17th - 21st. Our Canadian Jr. National Team who has been training at the Centre of Excellence in Montreal this summer for the past 8 weeks will be competing in this competition. Fortunately I will be able to cheer on the girls as they perform there outstanding routines this week. LETS GO GIRLS!
A quick congratulations to our 13-15 Canadian National Team who competed in the Common Cup in Italy just recently this month. The team pulled off a bronze medal swim in the team final event, pulling up Canada's ranking from last years 4th place finish in the same event. Congratulations girls!!
Just two weeks left until the annual Centre of Excellence trials begin. The trials will be held from August 25th - 26th. I am feeling confident and super prepared to perform at my best! Following the trials, our team will be given one week off to finish up our summer holidays and prepare ourselves for our next phase of training.
Enjoy your week! :)
