Home Sweet Home
WOW - what an amazing experience in Beijing, China. The past two weeks has been a GREAT success for Canada, we owned the podium! I hope everyone got a chance to watch our routines live from the FINA World Trophy competition through Synchro Canada's website. If you missed our swims, be sure to log onto their site as the events are still available to watch! www.synchro.ca
The first event of the competition was the Acrobatic routine where we placed FOURTH overall, also placing FOURTH in the duet event that followed. However, we were extremely eager to capture a podium finish in our other two routines. We pulled off a BRONZE medal performance after the free team event, following Spain and China. We were ahead of the Russians by almost 3 points after being defeated by them in the acrobatic event the previous day. In combo we had another AMAZING swim which captured us the SILVER, behind Spains Olympic team and ahead of China!
Overall with the combined scores of each of our 4 routines, we placed THIRD. Our team was congratulated with a small glass trophy at the closing banquet.
Following the competition, we had the opportunity to tour China for an additional 2 days. We got to see the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Silk Market, and much more! It was quite an adventure and a memorable experience I will be sure to never forget!
Now I am home in Canada, returning home to Kitchener at the end of this week to enjoy my Christmas holidays until I return again in the new year!

China bound!
Our watershow last Saturday was successful with over 200 people cheering in the crowd as we performed our routines one last time. After two months of preparation, our team is ready to take on the world at the FINA World Trophy event, held from December 9th - 12th in Beijing, China at the former 2008 Olympic "water cube"!
The final hours are counting down. Our flight leaves from Montreal airport at 8am this morning, total duration of flight time is almost 17hours! The last two days/nights we have been following certain guidelines from our mentors in order to prepare for the 12 hour time change we will experience when we arrive. China is approximately 12 hours ahead of standard Ontario time.
We will have 5 training days once we arrive in Beijing until the competition begins. Following the competition, our team will be staying in China for two extra nights to tour around the city and do some sight seeing! As of December 14th, we will officially be back in Canada. Until then..
